Reading and writing ask students to coordinate many skills at once. Instruction can isolate the difficult part, teach it clearly, and reconnect it to the larger task.
Support may focus on: reading comprehension and vocabulary, sentence and paragraph development, written responses, organizing ideas, and editing and revising, depending on the student’s needs.
